Sink or Swim?
So you’re in business. You need to get the word out. How are you going to do that? No matter if you are very small or very large, you have to work at getting and staying on top. So what works, and what is a waste of money? All this stuff is generally referred to as marketing. According to Wikipedia, Marketing is the process of performing market research, selling products and/or services to customers and promoting them via advertising to further enhance sales.[1] It generates the strategy that underlies sales techniques, business communication, and business developments.[2] It is an integrated process through which companies build strong customer relationships and create value for their customers and for themselves. Commercial advertisers often seek to generate increased consumption of their products or services through branding, which involves the repetition of an image or product name in an effort to associate related qualities with the brand in the minds of consumers. The bottom line is… You better be doing something, to keep up, or you’re gonna sink! So what are you doing?
One of the easiest things to do, as well as one of the least expensive is lettering your vehicles. Even if all you have is one car, you can turn it into a marketing machine for your business.
Keep in mind… People form opinions of you and your business not only by what you are saying, but how you look while you are saying it. So before you go looking for the cheapest guy in town, you may want consider the reputation you want for your business. Most of the time the cheapest guy in town does work reflecting his ability level. If you believe your business is a good value, why would you not look for someone with a skill level equal to the image you want to project? Not everyone who owns a sign making computer knows anything about design. Do your homework. Find a good designer. It will make a difference in the impression you make.
