Back before computers, people had to actually draw with pencil and paper, then transfer their ideas to a sign, wall, or vehicle with paint. Quite different than wrapping something with printed vinyl. While a lot has changed over the years, we still remember how to do it the way they did it back “in the day”, which may not be what you want for your work truck, but just what you are looking for on your custom motorcycle, car or truck.
This is a collection of various works created in several different mediums. The “Jessica Rabbit” picture is composed of an airbrush picture of Jessica I did on a race car superimposed over an Illustrator image, set on a background in Photoshop with lettering added.

Coca-Cola wanted a custom painted and airbrushed van for their launch of a new blue Minute Maid flavor. After being sufficiently impressed with the first van, they ordered a second custom job on another van, this time featuring Nestea “Take the Plunge”. Ideas were sketched on paper, and colored in. After the Columbia office looked at it and made their revisions, the drawings were sent to Coke headquarters in Atlanta for their approval. Once they signed off on the final drawing, we made patterns of the design and started the painting. The vans are done entirely with paint. No decals anywhere, including the lettering. After completing the job, a rollback picked up the van and transported it to Massachusetts for a Nestea “Boston Tea Party”. |
